Volleyball: Bellaire defeats Lamar in three games
Bellaire defeated Lamar in District 20-5A volleyball action on Tuesday.
The Cardinals won the match in three games, 25-16, 25-8, and 25-11. The victory moved Bellaire to 19-7 overall and 12-0 in district play.
Miranda Rogers, a 6’0’’ sophomore, and Courtni Sears both had five kills in the match.
Christina Seanger, a 5’10’’senior, leads Bellaire with 88 kills and a 3.14 kill per game average.
Next up for the Cardinals are the Wolves of Houston Westside.Westside is 21-9 overall and 11-1 in district action.
The match is slated for Friday at 5:15 p.m.
The defeat dropped Houston Lamar to 15-12 and 9-4.
Demi Wilson, a 5’10’’ senior led the Redskins with seven kills in the match. Wilson leads the squad with 81 kills on the season.
Calivineka Lockhart, a 6’0’’senior, leads Lamar with a 3.07 kill per game average.
Next up for Lamar are the visiting Marlins of Houston Madison. Madison is 5-11 overall and 2-11 in district games.
The Marlins lost in three games to Houston Westbury on Tuesday.
Saturday’s match is slated for 4:00 p.m.
