DEA to collect unused and expired prescriptions on 'take back day'
The DEA is holding the second annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Proper disposal of medications helps eliminate the risks of accidental poisoning of children and pets, drug abuse and theft of medications. In the Greater Houston area alone, an estimated $1 billion worth of unused or expired pharmaceuticals are disposed of each year.
Collection sites in the area are the City of Bellaire City Hall-Lobby, located at 7008 S. Rice, the Houston Police Department-South Central Station, located at 2202 St. Emanuel, and Memorial Villages Police Department, located at 11981 Memorial Drive.
