Alzheimer's Association donates to Bellaire Library
Fourteen books about Alzheimer's disease were donated to the Bellaire Library by the Alzheimer's Association in order to educate the local community about the disease.
The Alzheimer's Association is taking the initiative to raise awareness and support more than 340,000 victims of the disease in Texas.
Library Director, Mary Cohrs, said in the press release, “Alzheimer's is a topic that is growing and I was very delighted that we were [the] recipient of these gifts. All of these books will be cataloged and placed on our computers so caregivers, families and those interested in learning about the disease can have access to the materials.”
Among the donated books were Learning to speak Alzheimer's, The Alzheimer's Action Plan and Ambiguous Loss. The books were purchased in honor of 14 speakers who made presentations at the Schlicting Professional Conference on March 30.
All of the donated books will also be available through interlibrary loans.
Bellaire Library is located at 5111 Jessamine St.
