Cell researcher recognized for achievements
The Clinical Research Forum has recognized Dr. Malcolm Brenner and his colleagues for having one of the top 10 clinical research accomplishments published in the last two years.
Brenner is director of the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy at Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children's Hospital and Methodist Hospital. Their work was published in the Nov. 3, 2011, issue of The New England Journal of Medicine.
In the study, Brenner and his colleagues identified a new approach to increase the safety of stem cell transplantation. For more details on the study, click here.
He was presented with the award at the Clinical Research Forum's annual meeting April 18. Other award recipients included researchers from the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, Duke University, Seattle Children’s Research Institute/University of Washington, the University of Cincinnati, the University of Colorado School of Medicine, the University of North Carolina, the University of Pennsylvania, the Ragon Institute of Massachusetts General Hospital, MIT and Harvard.
