Bellaire Little League receives field sponsors
Bellaire Little League President Ronie Karkowsky announced the sponsorship of all three fields currently under construction in the city's new sports complex.
Brent and Stephanie Kindle sponsored the west field, a regulation Little League baseball field, now known as Kindle Field; the east baseball field, now Fox Field, was sponsored by Linda and Mike and Patti and Jim Fox; and, lastly, Jerry and Tanya Gee sponsored the tee-ball field, which will now be Gee Field.
“We are very excited to sponsor a new field where our younger sons will be playing and to demonstrate our support for the capital campaign,” said Tanya, chair of the Dirt to Diamond Campaign, which worked to raise the funds to construct the facility.
In addition to the fields, the scoreboards, concessions and restroom facility have also been sponsored. However, named sponsorships are still available, including four dugouts and the opportunity to name the complex itself. The program will also accept donations for engraved pavers.
Landscape Arts has been contracted to build the new sports complex, to be located at Pine Street and Avenue B in Bellaire next to Horn Academy. With the sponsorships received so far, the campaign to fund the project is approximately halfway to achieving its goal of $750,000. Work on the building is expected to commence within the next four months, weather permitting.
In addition to hosting the Bellaire Little League, the facilities will be available to Horn Academy students during the school year and for recreational use for the city of Bellaire, as governed by the Parks and Recreation Department.
