Houston Met Dance to perform at Miller Outdoor Theatre
The Houston Metropolitan Dance Company is presenting Sizzling Summer Dance at the Miller Outdoor Theatre.
The free show will take place at 8:30 a.m. June 1 at the outdoor theater, located at 6000 Hermann Park Drive in Houston.
The Houston Met Dance will perform some previous crowd favorites as well as two new works by choreographers Robbie Moore and Suzi Taylor. Some of the works being performed will include "Before All This" by Joe Celej and Kate Skarpetowska and "Stirring Simple Gifts in a Shade of Blue" by Caleb Mitchell.
Special guest performers the Houston Met Too Youth Company will also be performing a work by Houston Met choreographer Kiki Lucas.
Houston Metropolitan Dance Company is funded in part by grants from the Houston Endowment Inc., the City of Houston through the Houston Arts Alliance and the Miller Theatre Advisory Board, the Texas Commission on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. Founded in 1995, Houston Metropolitan Dance Company, familiarly known as Houston Met, embraces a comprehensive dance style that fuses the dance idioms of contemporary dance, jazz, tap and ballet.
