Episcopal alum delivers all the offense Indianapolis needs
Brian David Friday, a 2004 graduate of Bellaire Episcopal High School, scored both runs as the Indianapolis Indians took down the Gwinnett Braves 2-1 in minor league baseball action on Tuesday.
In the game, Friday went 2-4.
After a stellar high school baseball career, Friday accepted a baseball scholarship at Rice University where he batted .327 with 55 doubles, 40 stolen bases and 98 RBI in three seasons.
He was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the third round, 98th overall, of the 2007 Major League Baseball draft.
In the minors, Friday is a career .272 minor league hitter with 73 doubles, 14 triples, 14 home runs, 189 runs scored and 123 RBIs in 345 games.
