Houston Junior Forum Resale Shop is a Treasure Trove for Collectors
Savvy collectors of fine household items, antiques, and decorative accessories plan frequent trips to the shop in the Heights, where a treasure trove of rare items are located. Houston Junior Forum Resale Shop, an establishment owned and operated by the non-profit women’s service organization, the Houston Junior Forum, is a place where shoppers often find that perfect piece for their homes.
“I found beautiful additions for my Lladro and Baccarat collections on the same day in early June,” Paula H., a satisfied customer of the store from Houston, said.
Those who value the beauty associated with Madame Alexander, Lladro, Wedgwood, Limoges, Waterford, Baccarat, Gorham, and Dresden look forward to discovering treasures within the store.
New merchandise arrives daily, and shoppers seeking the lasting quality of Baker, Councill, Ethan Allen, Ralph Lauren Home, LaBarge, Mid-Century furniture, and American and European antiques often find pieces that they can add to their collections.
“Our stock is ever changing and sells fast,” HJF Volunteer Shop Manager, Brenda Arcache, said. “With people relocating and downsizing, we often receive a lifetime of collections from an estate or from those selling a home, ranch, or beach house.”
Every first Saturday of the month, every item in the store is discounted by 10 percent. Additionally, shoppers 62 years of age and above receive a 10 percent discount every Wednesday.
The shop can arrange for free pick-up for donated items, such as furniture and household items. Consignment pick up requires a nominal fee based on the size of the truck and the number of staff required.
