New website arrives for Solari Hospice Foundation

As part of its mission to help family members, especially children, cope with the loss of a loved one, Solari Hospice Foundation has launched its new website, www.solarihospicefoundation.org. The site provides vital bereavement resources, including practical tips to help people cope with loss, as well as a schedule for free grief support groups offered through Houston Solari Hospice Care. It also gives information on how organizations and individuals can extend a helping hand.

“We wanted to build a site that would help spread the word to the public about the wonderful grief support programs we offer and also explain the mission of our foundation to potential donors,” said Jamie Muth, executive director of Solari Hospice Foundation. “We welcome the opportunity to work with organizations and individuals who share our enthusiasm. All of the programs we offer are completely free to participants. The more funds we raise, the more people we can help.”

Gary Polsky, the founder of Solari Hospice Foundation, is passionate about the future growth of the foundation and believes the newly-created website will help generate excitement about the foundation’s mission of guiding children beyond loss.

The website provides information and schedules for Camp Solari — a bereavement camp for kids ages 6 to 17 where professional grief counselors teach children and their surviving caregivers healthy ways to express their emotions and move on while still honoring the memory of their lost loved one. Children are the most vulnerable in such situations, since they haven’t developed the skills to deal with the conflicting emotions that the loss brings — including fear, sadness, anger, frustration and loneliness, as well as the feeling of being isolated and alone.

“I feel a strong need to continue reaching out to all children who need help moving beyond their loss to a place of happiness and success,” Polsky said. “I'd love to see the foundation's outreach efforts expand to help even more children — through additional camps around the country, outpatient grief counseling services and innovative educational programs. The Solari Hospice Foundation counts on the support of many caring individuals and businesses to help make it happen."
