Bellaire HS star Chris Young belts long homer for Arizona
Bellaire High School graduate Chris Young blasted his 10th home run of the season, as Arizona beat Houston 8-2 Sunday.
Young went 1-for-3 with his long ball, a three-run shot, in the win.
On the season, Young is batting .215, with ten home runs, 25 RBIs, and five stolen bases.
A 2001 graduate of Bellaire High School, Young was selected in the 16th round (493rd overall) of the 2001 amateur draft by the Chicago White Sox.
Young made his Major League debut on Aug. 18, 2006. In 2007, his first full big league season, he batted .237 with 32 home runs and 68 RBIs to finish fourth in National League Rookie of the Year voting.
He was named to the NL All-Star and Home Run Derby teams during the 2010 season, which saw him hit .257 with 27 home runs, 91 RBIs and 94 runs scored.
