Bellaire HS alum Chris Young homers again for Arizona

Bellaire High School graduate Chris Young blasted his 11th home run of the season as Arizona beat Colorado 6-2 Monday.

Young homered, singled, stole a base, walked twice and scored twice in the win.

Young hit his tenth home run of the year on Sunday.

On the season, Young is batting .223 with 11 home runs 27 RBIs and six stolen bases.

A 2001 graduate of Bellaire High School, Young was selected in the 16th round (493rd overall) of the 2001 amateur draft by the Chicago White Sox.

Young made his Major League debut on Aug. 18, 2006. In 2007, his first full big league season, he batted .237 with 32 home runs and 68 RBIs to finish fourth in National League Rookie of the Year voting.

He was named to the NL All-Star and Home Run Derby teams during the 2010 season, which saw him hit .257 with 27 home runs, 91 RBIs and 94 runs scored.
