West University softball holding fall registration

Registration is now open for West University Softball Association Fall Ball 2012.

The league is open to girls ages 6-14. Divisions will be split into separate age levels, with an 8U coach pitch division for ages 6-8, 9U machine pitch for ages 8-9, 10U girl pitch for ages 9-10, 12U girl pitch for ages 10-12 and 14U girl pitch for ages 12-14.

Practices will be held once per week on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings.

The season will start with afternoon practices on Sunday, Sept. 9; games will officially begin on Sunday, Sept. 16 and will be played on Sundays through Nov. 11. Each team is expected to play at least eight games.

Clinics will be open throughout the season for fast-pitch or catcher instruction. The league will cover the clinic costs.

Fall Ball registration costs $150. Refunds will not be given after Tuesday, Sept. 4.

Fall tournament softball teams will be formed based on interest for the 10U level and above. Tournament players are expected to play for their Fall Ball team in addition to their tournament team. More information on the tournament program can be found at www.wusa.org.
