Spike Sport boys volleyball club to host open house Aug. 12

The boys volleyball club at Spike Sport Club is hosting an open house event from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12.

The event will include two hours of free volleyball training for middle school and high school students. No previous volleyball experience is necessary.

The club is offering a three-week volleyball league for middle and high school-aged boys beginning Tuesday, Aug. 14. The cost is $135 per participant, and the camp will meet from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

According to the Spike Sports website, participants will learn team concepts as well as individual skills like passing, serving, setting, hitting and defense.

Spike Sport Club is located at 10914 S. Gessner Road in Houston. The 45,000-square-foot facility includes eight full-size volleyball courts, according to the club's website.
