Houston Independent School District seeks teachers
The Houston ISD is currently hiring teachers for the 2012-13 school year.
In areas of critical shortages, $5,000 incentives are available. These areas include bilingual, Spanish, secondary math, secondary science and special education, including autism, life skills, preschool programs for children with disabilities, DeafEd and behavior support.
The annual teacher salary in Houston ISD begins at $45,887, with salary offers depending on educational credentials and prior work experience. The district offers comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, life insurance, flexible spending account options and vacation time.
All candidates must have a bachelor's degree, hold a valid Texas teaching certification or reciprocal out-of-state certification and pass a background check.
A $75 referral award for critical shortage teachers hired this year will be given.
